SuccessFactors- IAG integration for SSO

SuccessFactors- IAG integration for SSO

SuccessFactors- IAS integration for SSO

SuccessFactors is a cloud-based human capital management (HCM) solution that helps organizations manage their workforce and talent. SuccessFactors offers various modules for core HR, payroll, performance management, learning, recruiting, and more. Access SuccessFactors, users need to authenticate themselves with a username and password or use a single sign-on (SSO) mechanism that integrates with their existing identity provider (IdP).

Identity Authentication Service (IAS) is a cloud service that provides secure and scalable authentication and user management for SAP cloud applications. IAS supports various authentication methods, such as password, SAML, OAuth, and multifactor authentication (MFA). IAS can also act as a proxy service that connects to external IdPs, such as Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure AD, or Google.

SuccessFactors IAS integration is a feature that allows SuccessFactors customers to use IAS as their authentication and user management service. With this integration, SuccessFactors users can benefit from the following advantages:

  • Enhanced security and compliance with MFA, password policies, and audit logs.
  • Simplified user provisioning and lifecycle management with automated synchronization and mapping of user attributes.
  • Improved user experience and productivity with seamless SSO and self-service options.
  • Reduced complexity and cost with a unified and scalable authentication service for all SAP cloud applications.
Prerequisites:

Enable SuccessFactors IAG integration, we need to have the following prerequisites:

  • A valid SuccessFactors subscription with admin access.
  • A valid IAS subscription with admin access.
  • A domain name that we own or control, such as example.com.
  • A SSL/TLS certificate for web domain name, such as example.com.crt and example.com.key.
  • An external IdP that supports SAML 2.0 or OAuth 2.0, such as ADFS, Azure AD, or Google. (Optional)
Configuration Steps:

Configure SuccessFactors IAG integration, we need to follow these steps:

  1. Register our domain name with IAS and upload our SSL/TLS certificate.
  2. Create a service provider (SP) in IAS for SuccessFactors.
  3. Create an identity provider (IdP) in IAS for our external IdP. (Optional)
  4. Configure the SSO settings in SuccessFactors to use IAS as the IdP.
  5. Configure the user synchronization and attribute mapping in SuccessFactors and IAS.
  6. Test the SSO and user synchronization functionality.
Conclusion:

SuccessFactors IAs integration is a powerful and convenient way to enhance the security and usability of our SuccessFactors solution. By using IAS as our authentication and user management service, we can leverage the features and benefits of a cloud-based and SAP-certified service that integrates seamlessly with our SuccessFactors and other SAP cloud applications.
